There’s something truly magical about going for a walk on Christmas Day. Millions of us head out with our loved ones for a festive walk and there are certainly plenty of places around Cornwall to head to keep up this popular Christmas Day tradition. Keep reading to find out 6 of our favourite places for a festive walk in Cornwall!

Penzance to Marazion

The 2-mile walk from Penzance to Marazion is on a surfaced path, so is easy for wheelchair users and pushchairs. This walk along the seawall is great for the whole family, including dogs. The path passes dog friendly beaches through from Long Rock to Marazion, so is the perfect walk if you have a beach loving dog! The seawall path offers a picturesque view of the beaches towards Marazion and also St Michaels Mount. The views alone make this walk one of our favourites for a festive walk on Christmas Day!

Idless Woods

The Idless Woods are approximately two miles north of Truro and are 2.8 miles in length. It is great for a Christmas Day woodland walk with your loved ones and four legged friends. Just remember to bring your wellies! The woods are home to a diverse range of wildlife, so see if you’ll be lucky enough to spot any Roe deer! Parking is free at this location too. The central location within the county makes the Idless Woods a great meeting place for families and friends that are scattered across Cornwall for a Christmas Day walk.

Perranporth Beach

This huge stretch of beach is fantastic for a festive walk with family and friends. It is dog friendly all year round, so you’ll be sure to see plenty of other jolly people out for a Christmas walk and lots of dogs running around! If you’re looking for a great beach in Cornwall to visit for a festive walk this Christmas, Perranporth Beach is definitely one of our favourites!

Porthcurno to Pedn Vounder

This beautiful coastal walk is approximately 3 miles from Porthcurno Beach to Pedn Vounder Beach. There are points of the path that are steep and parts that are quite narrow, so it wouldn’t be easily accessible to wheelchair users and pushchairs. The walk has stunning views of the sea and the cliffs, so is a beautiful location to choose for your Christmas family walk!

Boscastle Harbour Walk

The National Trust Harbour Walk in Boscastle is gentle walking trail that is perfect for a relaxed festive walk. The walk offers stunning views of the river, ancient harbour and coast. The path is flat and approximately a mile long. It is accessible wheelchair users, pushchairs and isn’t a difficult walk for those with limited mobility. If you’re looking for an easy Christmas Day walk with breath-taking views, the Boscastle Harbour walk is perfect for you!

Camel Trail (Padstow to Wadebridge)

The Camel Trail is a flat path on a former disused railway line and is suitable for walkers, wheelchair users, pushchairs, cyclists and horse-riders. The section from Padstow to Wadebridge is 5.5 miles and winds along the Estuary between the two Cornish towns. It is a great trail at Christmas, with many walkers taking to the path for a festive walk! If you fancy a challenge, see if you can complete the whole Camel Trail! It follows the 18 miles of disused railway lines from Padstow all the way to Bodmin Moor!
