Padstow is situated on the west side of the Camel estuary in North Cornwall and is an area of outstanding natural beauty with wonderful bays, beautiful golden beaches and stunning holiday lodges to rent. With the main town centered around the harbor and the countless restaurants and eateries (including Paul Ainesworth’s No 6 and Rick Stein’s fish & chips, and his famous seafood restaurant), many people come for a self-catering lodge holiday in Padstow but end up eating out for every meal – and we can’t blame them.

Even if you’re not a foodie, a lodge holiday in charming Padstow has so much to offer for those who want to burn energy and those who want to relax – or a bit of both. The mouth of the Camel River at Padstow is the start and end point of the 18 mile Camel Cycle trail connecting Padstow to Wadebridge which is smooth surfaced and mostly level & traffic free – a real family favourite. Padstow is also a great jumping on/off point for the South West Coast path and is a popular place to take a day and night’s rest from the hike in a cosy holiday lodge, before returning to the trail which covers much of this stretch of coastline.

Close to Padstow and our holiday lodges for you there is much on offer. In less than a five-minute drive from your lodge you can be relaxing on one of seven golden sandy beaches, or out in the water, rock-pooling, snorkeling, diving, windsurfing or surfing the waves of Cornwall, on your own or with one of the local surf schools in Padstow. And on the water who could forget to mention fishing in Padstow – a town famed for its seafood. Fishing in Padstow is full of opportunity, whether you’re casting off from the shore or the rocky headland, or hitching a ride on one of the many daily sea fishing trip boats leaving from Padstow harbor. Still out on the water, you can take a thrilling white knuckle speedboat ride out to the open ocean, hurtling past rugged Atlantic cliffs on a short but memorable ride. For a more sedate ocean voyage, a ferry operates from Padstow to the village of Rock across the river, popular with the stars and even royalty and a great place to start for even more Cornish coastal walking opportunities. Padstow town also houses a wonderful museum which offers a family friendly insight into the last few formative centuries in Padstow’s history and its place in the history of Cornwall.

Every day of your lodge holiday in Padstow could be as relaxing or adventure packed as you like – but whatever you choose to do we’re sure you’ll return thoroughly satisfied every night to your holiday lodge in Padstow!
