A selection of pubs and restaurants 1/2 mile, 1 mile and 1.5 miles away.

Excellent footpaths / walking area.

An attractive two storey cottage, which was converted from the other half of the original grain storage barn and part of the old milking parlour. Named after the wader bird found on Little Petherick creek and the Camel estuary nearby.

A stable door leads into the open plan living room and kitchen area with barn oak laminate flooring. The attractive and comfortable living room has both a large three seater and two seater sofa arranged around windows overlooking the garden and the television with VHS video recorder and DVD player and quality electric genuine cast iron stove on a slate hearth / back. There is also a CD music centre. Lighting is by either a central LED light, wall lights or a table light.

The kitchen is fitted with solid ash cupboards, a modern black slate effect worktop with attractive yellow ochre, terracotta and midnight blue tiling. The kitchen is well equipped, including the essentials of electric cooker with an externally vented extractor hood, microwave, kettle, toaster and fridge/freezer, and all the other things you may need down to items such as a cafetiere and garlic press. Lighting is provided by an overhead 3 spot bar and under cupboard lighting over the worktops. Crockery is a quality timeless design by Poole pottery.

Off from the kitchen area is a rear lobby with under stairs storage cupboard leading to a large twin bedded room. A third 3' bed can easily be accommodated for a small additional charge.

A feature wooden staircase leads from the living room to the bathroom/wc with quality Mira thermostatic mixer shower over the bath and a large master bedroom. The bright and spacious double bedded room with it's high ceiling has a king size iron framed bed with thick mattress. There are far reaching views from the master bedroom over the gardens and towards the Camel Estuary and the hills above the popular sailing village of Rock.

Outside there is a totally enclosed and gated garden area for the exclusive use of the occupants of Curlew Cottage. The garden is fully decked, with a herbaceous border.

Padstow is situated on the west side of the Camel estuary in North Cornwall and is an area of outstanding natural beauty with wonderful bays, beautiful golden beaches and stunning holiday cottages to rent. With the main town centered around the harbor and the countless restaurants and eateries (including Paul Ainesworth’s No 6 and Rick Stein’s fish & chips, and his famous seafood restaurant), many people come for a self-catering cottage holiday in Padstow but end up eating out for every meal – and we can’t blame them.

Even if you’re not a foodie, a cottage holiday in charming Padstow has so much to offer for those who want to burn energy and those who want to relax – or a bit of both. The mouth of the Camel River at Padstow is the start and end point of the 18 mile Camel Cycle trail connecting Padstow to Wadebridge which is smooth surfaced and mostly level & traffic free – a real family favourite. Padstow is also a great jumping on/off point for the South West Coast path and is a popular place to take a day and night’s rest from the hike in a cosy holiday cottage, before returning to the trail which covers much of this stretch of coastline.

Close to Padstow and our holiday cottages for you there is much on offer. In less than a five-minute drive from your cottage you can be relaxing on one of seven golden sandy beaches, or out in the water, rock-pooling, snorkeling, diving, windsurfing or surfing the waves of Cornwall, on your own or with one of the local surf schools in Padstow. And on the water who could forget to mention fishing in Padstow – a town famed for its seafood. Fishing in Padstow is full of opportunity, whether you’re casting off from the shore or the rocky headland, or hitching a ride on one of the many daily sea fishing trip boats leaving from Padstow harbor. Still out on the water, you can take a thrilling white knuckle speedboat ride out to the open ocean, hurtling past rugged Atlantic cliffs on a short but memorable ride. For a more sedate ocean voyage, a ferry operates from Padstow to the village of Rock across the river, popular with the stars and even royalty and a great place to start for even more Cornish coastal walking opportunities. Padstow town also houses a wonderful museum which offers a family friendly insight into the last few formative centuries in Padstow’s history and its place in the history of Cornwall.

Every day of your cottage holiday in Padstow could be as relaxing or adventure packed as you like – but whatever you choose to do we’re sure you’ll return thoroughly satisfied every night to your holiday cottage in Padstow!
