Your holiday house in Newquay will be your base in the nation’s favourite seaside resort. The surfing capital of Europe exudes a laid back vibe and is popular with surfers, travelers and holidaymakers from all over the world. Newquay meets the Atlantic coast of Cornwall with 7 miles of stunning sandy beaches and dramatic cliff-laden vistas. Everything you could ever want to find in a seaside rental house holiday is available in Newquay Cornwall. With more houses to rent than most other places in Cornwall, you’re sure to find your perfect holiday lettings accommodation.
Catering to everyone from stag-dos to young families, Newquay has so much to see and do it’s hard to list it all in one page. From its 11 beaches all within walking distance of your house in Newquay and the pumping surf at many of them, to a golf course, stunning gardens, an incredible selection of food and nightlife for all tastes, and plenty to keep the kids entertained. After dark in Newquay is a great time to catch local and international bands and DJs perform and if it’s your thing, you can find a really wild party in Newquay town.
From your Newquay house you can head out for surf lessons at one of the many surf schools in town down at Fistral beach, Towan beach, or wherever else the surf is working that day. Newquay has grown a reputation for coasteering in recent years also, which is where groups of adventure seekers scale the cliffs and coves of the stunning headlands and leap from rocky heights into the deep Atlantic Ocean. Rock climbing, quad biking and abseiling are also on offer.
For a more relaxed outing or family day in the sun away from your holiday house, there is a beautiful, tranquil boating lake in the 26 acre Trenance gardens, complete with rowing boats, pedalos and crazy golf on the side. Then there is the Gannel estuary; vast, dune-laden beach picnic spot popular with young families and couples. Pirate’s Quest (Buccaneer Bay / Tunnels Through Time) is a great family day out with many special events on during the summer and many independent organisations run great kids events in town and on the beaches during the summer holiday weeks, including sand sculpting, treasure hunts and team games.
There are many festivals and events throughout the year, from the town-wide fancy dress party at New Year complete with epic firework display over the harbor, to the annual Boardmasters festival in summer, with hundreds of other events I between. You can find real ale, Cornish cyder, live music and entertainment in town on any night of the week and you won’t have any problem staying truly entertained if you’re planning on getting back to your Newquay holiday house late at night or early in the morning.
The harbor in Newquay is one of the most photographed in the country and houses a wide variety of tourist and working fishing boats. Sea fishing charters can be booked easily in many of the numerous tourist / gift shops in town and for those not eager to catch their own dinner, the harbor hosts many fine dining seafood restaurants that do all the hard work for you in spectacularly tasty style.
Newquay houses also offer nearby attractions including Newquay Zoo and the Blue Reef Aquarium - great days out for the family. A visit to nearby DairyLand Farmworld provides a day's entertainment for all ages in an all-weather environment and the Cornish Cyder Farm, home of the notorious Rattler Cyder is also close by and great family fun (of course, perhaps more fun for the over 18s amongst us). The Cornish Birds of Prey Centre has the largest collection of birds of prey in the Westcountry and it is possible to fly and handle one of these magnificent birds under supervision.
Our holiday lettings and houses in Newquay allow you to experience the most popular resort in the country from its very heart. Those looking to experience all that Newquay has to offer, but also a quiet place to escape may also want to look at houses in Mawgan Porth or houses in Perranporth, both nearby.View more about Newquay
I am and approachable and friendly host providing high end self-catering accommodation in Cornwall for a number of seasons. We enjoy many return visitors which speaks volumes about our service.
Lovely modern property - easy access to most areas of Newquay. we were a family group so would be great to have some serving bowls and more kitchen essentials.
Dear Susan, Thank you for the feedback. We do have serving and salad bowls in the lower cupboards. I am disappointed that you felt this affected your stay. If you visit again, please let us know if there is something specific you need during your stay and we will always try to accommodate you. Best regards, Mark
We loved our stay at the harourmaster House! Beautiful house, perfect position for many activities, beach in walking distance, shopping nearby.
Just returned from a wonderful week at The Harbour Master House. The house really is as beautiful and spacious as it looks in the photos. Location is perfect and we hardly used our cars during the stay. Mark the host was fab and quick to sort a small issue that we had on arrival. House is furnished and equipped to a high standard throughout. We would highly recommend The Harbour Master House and hope to return soon.
As a large family of twelve people and two dogs, the house was perfect. Plenty of room to socialise and eat together with a large kitchen and three bathrooms. Ideal location for Fistral beach just a 10 minute walk across the golf course and Newquay town centre a 5 minute walk down the road. Off road parking for 3 vehicles.
Thanks to Mark the owner for ensuring our stay went without a problem.
The owners are on hand should you experience any problems which I’m absolutely sure you won’t ! The house is hotel quality and a lovely gift of refreshments on arrival , we give this home a 5 star !! Will definatly be going again ! Great family holiday had by our family ! Ideal for grandparents with grown children with their own families as it’s so spacious your not falling over yourselves xxx highly recommended
Lovely House in a great location, close to beaches and town.
Great house great location great service from mark
Lovely house, great location and beautifully finished off.
Our family stayed at this property during July. I'm not normally the type for leaving reviews but Mark looked after us so well, and this lovely house really made our stay.
We arrived to chilled prosecco and cream teas which I thought was a really nice touch.
Mark contacted us before arrival to explain check in details and afterwards to make sure we had everything we needed. We also asked him about local restaurants and beaches, which he gave some great advice on.
The location of the house is perfect for walking into town and to Newquays beaches and as my father plays golf, he couldn't have been happier with the links course across the road.
The house itself is lovely. Everything is brand new, it's very spacious and airy and the modern classy interior design really compliments the period style of the building.
We were only a few minutes from the beach but we mostly spent our afternoons enjoying the sun in the garden whilst the kids did surf lessons at Fistral.
It's very pleasant to spend time there and there are even fresh herbs growing in the borders that we used on the bbq!
If you want something a little more individual and prefer more upmarket accommodation for your holidays, this lovely house makes a great base for a trip to Cornwall.
The house is gorgeous and has been planned out very well. It was simply perfect for our family get away. The location was also perfect. We had a lovely BBQ the first two nights with a choice of supermarkets, including a Sainsbury's only 300 yards away! There's a convenience store literally opposite and the beach and town are only 5 minutes away on foot. We couldn't have hoped for more.
Mark was a great host and communicated with us to ensure the check in ran smoothly and to make recommendations on our stay. We were also greeted with a lovely gesture, as Mark had left us a bottle of Prosecco with jam, cream and scones to enjoy upon our arrival! Thank you, Mark! :) & thanks for letting us stay in your gorgeous home, would highly recommend and use again!
I have been using self-catering apartments for nearly 10 years and this was by far the best I have ever seen! Mark is such a good guy. Really communicates. Makes sure you have everything you need. Our whole group was too big for his place to accommodate but he helped us find a new location when our second spot cancelled at the last minute. His place is close to the water front, near shopping and restaurants and next door to a laundry. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Great price, great location, great owner.
We absolutely loved it here! It was modern and comfortable and it was so close to everything!
We stayed here in Aug 2016 as two families and absolutely loved it, when in the home the kids from both families stayed in the second floor bedroom while the adults were on the middle floor, this worked out perfectly for all involved. We loved the access to the beaches by foot as our dog loves walking more than we do! Hours spent in the ocean and bbq on Fistral beach in the evenings then a short stroll home! The home is huge and cosy. We will return
