Your holiday cottage in Newquay will be your base in the nation’s favourite seaside resort. The surfing capital of Europe exudes a laid back vibe and is popular with surfers, travelers and holidaymakers from all over the world. Newquay meets the Atlantic coast of Cornwall with 7 miles of stunning sandy beaches and dramatic cliff-laden vistas. Everything you could ever want to find in a seaside rental cottage holiday is available in Newquay Cornwall. With more cottages to rent than most other places in Cornwall, you’re sure to find your perfect holiday lettings accommodation.
Catering to everyone from stag-dos to young families, Newquay has so much to see and do it’s hard to list it all in one page. From its 11 beaches all within walking distance of your cottage in Newquay and the pumping surf at many of them, to a golf course, stunning gardens, an incredible selection of food and nightlife for all tastes, and plenty to keep the kids entertained. After dark in Newquay is a great time to catch local and international bands and DJs perform and if it’s your thing, you can find a really wild party in Newquay town.
From your Newquay cottage you can head out for surf lessons at one of the many surf schools in town down at Fistral beach, Towan beach, or wherever else the surf is working that day. Newquay has grown a reputation for coasteering in recent years also, which is where groups of adventure seekers scale the cliffs and coves of the stunning headlands and leap from rocky heights into the deep Atlantic Ocean. Rock climbing, quad biking and abseiling are also on offer.
For a more relaxed outing or family day in the sun away from your holiday cottage, there is a beautiful, tranquil boating lake in the 26 acre Trenance gardens, complete with rowing boats, pedalos and crazy golf on the side. Then there is the Gannel estuary; vast, dune-laden beach picnic spot popular with young families and couples. Pirate’s Quest (Buccaneer Bay / Tunnels Through Time) is a great family day out with many special events on during the summer and many independent organisations run great kids events in town and on the beaches during the summer holiday weeks, including sand sculpting, treasure hunts and team games.
There are many festivals and events throughout the year, from the town-wide fancy dress party at New Year complete with epic firework display over the harbor, to the annual Boardmasters festival in summer, with hundreds of other events I between. You can find real ale, Cornish cyder, live music and entertainment in town on any night of the week and you won’t have any problem staying truly entertained if you’re planning on getting back to your Newquay holiday cottage late at night or early in the morning.
The harbor in Newquay is one of the most photographed in the country and houses a wide variety of tourist and working fishing boats. Sea fishing charters can be booked easily in many of the numerous tourist / gift shops in town and for those not eager to catch their own dinner, the harbor hosts many fine dining seafood restaurants that do all the hard work for you in spectacularly tasty style.
Newquay cottages also offer nearby attractions including Newquay Zoo and the Blue Reef Aquarium - great days out for the family. A visit to nearby DairyLand Farmworld provides a day's entertainment for all ages in an all-weather environment and the Cornish Cyder Farm, home of the notorious Rattler Cyder is also close by and great family fun (of course, perhaps more fun for the over 18s amongst us). The Cornish Birds of Prey Centre has the largest collection of birds of prey in the Westcountry and it is possible to fly and handle one of these magnificent birds under supervision.
Our holiday lettings and cottages in Newquay allow you to experience the most popular resort in the country from its very heart. Those looking to experience all that Newquay has to offer, but also a quiet place to escape may also want to look at cottages in Mawgan Porth or cottages in Perranporth, both nearby.

The estimated cost of £2-£4 a day for electricity was on the nose. On the whole the cottage was very nice and in a quiet area.
The cottage was so much nicer and bigger then we excepted. It was spotlessly clean and in and beautiful quiet location. But a short drive to one of many fantastic beaches .Would definitely book again .We had a wonderful stay and the weather was great as a bonus
Lovely cozy cottage in a remote location but a very short drive to the beach. We had everything we needed for a family of 4. Very easy to contact the owners with any questions. Would definitely recommend.
Lovely cottage. We literally only used it to sleep in as we were out all day with family nearby.
We’ve had a wonderful stay at Barn Owl cottage, the pictures don’t do it justice! It’s much larger than expected and all of the bedrooms are extremely pretty and comfortable.
It’s lovely and clean throughout with everything you would need for an excellent holiday. The garden was great for the children to play in and they really enjoyed seeing the horses and the chickens.
It is quite remote but this wasn’t a problem for us and means that it is really quiet - especially at night!
We’re already looking forward to returning in the future.
A beautiful home from home in a beautiful part of the world. We can't recommend enough and will return when we are able.
We stayed at the cottage for a week at the end of August 2021 and had a wonderful time. The photos do not do the cottage justice. It was absolutely perfect for our family trip made up of four adults and three children. We loved the quiet location which was perfectly situated to explore the beauiful beaches of Newquay, Mawgan Porth and Watergate Bay.
The little ones loved the spacious garden and say hello to the chickens each morning. The hosts were terrific and went out of their way to ensure we had the perfect stay. We cannot wait to make another visit and would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.
We had a lovely time at Barn Owl Cottage. Very comfortable, spacious, and great to have open views and plenty of outdoor space. Convenient for local beaches
Excellent grounds, lovely accommodation. Extremely peaceful- thoroughly recommend.
We have been coming here for 8 years now . Location and everything so peaceful and everything you need for self catering but only a few minutes down the road from distraction beach. Oliver and his family take great care of you - the oven broke and there was a new one within a couple of days !!
Great property in a great location. Nice lawn for our 2yr old to run around. All the people we met and spoke to were extremely helpfull and chatty.
Beautiful Farm house, well maintained and in a lovely location. All queries we had where dealt with immediately. would highly recommend to anybody.
Lovely location and very quite . Just perfect if you want that isolated stay. Accommodation is perfect for 5 people and well stocked with everything you need . BBQ area outside , lovely views and if your lucky you may get a chance to see the two cute dogs running about in the distance .
Very comfortable and spotlessly clean cottage. Great being in the countryside and so close to the sea. We will certainly return. Thank you for a wonderful week!
The Owners were very welcoming and any problems were dealt with effectively. The washing machine gave up the ghost and was instantly replaced with a new one, they were kind and considerate. The home was cosy and with all that you needed. The views were stunning and if you like horses you will be thrilled. You are close to all things but you will need a car. The nearest pub/restuarant was 3 miles all ways, but if you want a quiet break as we did then the location is perfect with 3 others smaller barns. The nearby beaches are blue flag and beautiful and so much to do and see any time of year. Great stay! :)
Tranquil and comfortable, we loved our stay thank you very much, including the beautiful paddocks and meadows surrounding.
It was a lovely cottage with everything that you could need. The animals where a bit scary but it is the country. And make sure you have some £1 coins as it takes them for electric.
Nice location and comfortable place.
A wonderful property set in an idyllic spot and very convenient for Newquay. Fully stocked house, well looked after and perfect for a small group of freinds wanting to relax in the countryside. Horses and a nice little stream on site too.
Love the peace and quiet of the surroundings. Very comfortable and cosy, great kitchen. Wish the dishwasher was provided with salt though. Everything was perfect - 5 minutes to all the beaches
This is a lovely cottage for a comfortable, chilled out break from the rat race of London life. A remote and peaceful location but with easy enough access (by car) to many surrounding villages and towns.
The cottage has everything you could need. We went in December and the storage heating made the cottage lovely and warm. I would thoroughly recommend the cottage.
The cottage was lovely, furnished in keeping with it's age with a modern kitchen.
We'd been looking for somewhere that was away from the hussle and bussle but close enough to the beaches and shops as we had our 3 year old grandson with us, and wow did we strike lucky. This cottage is beautiful, the barns have been converted with love and pride and it shows.
It's impossible to say anything negative about the barns or the area, it's simply beautiful and we would recommend that anyone wanting to stay near Newquay books these cottages.
Whilst there we travelled up and down Cornwall, the cottages are wonderfully placed for doing all the tourist sites and there are big supermarkets close enough to stock up the huge fridge in this Cottage.
SIMPLY WONDERFUL, well done Julia and Will, you should be really proud of yourselves.
Room Tip: We stayed in 4 bedroom cottage, fantastic for a family
Just returned from a week staying in this holiday Cottage, 7 of us in the party and found we had plenty on room in the cottage. Well equipped, clean and full of character.
Thankyou for a lovely relaxing break
Stayed here for a week in this holiday cottage in April. The cottage was clean, comfortable and had everything you needed. The garden was lovely and there was plenty of room for my grandchildren to run around. They particularly liked visiting the stables and the chickens! The cottages are close to several beaches. The owners are friendly but not intrusive . I would definitely recommend these cottages.
