Beautiful shepherd's hut; gorgeous location and close to the coast path. Hidden away in a beautiful secluded garden, a perfect place for a getaway.

Baggins is a gorgeous shepherd's hut in a quiet and secluded location. With it's own bathroom, kitchen and wood-fired hot tub you have everything you need for an amazing break

In a quiet corner of a beautiful 1.5 acre garden with stunning views over the wildlife pond and nearby valley is our lovely shepherd's hut - Baggins.  There's a bit of a hobbit theme going on as you will also find an amazing hobbit house constructed of straw bales and a reciprocal roof where guests can sit and enjoy a glass of wine at the end of the day if you want a change of scene.

The shepherd's hut has everything you will need for a relaxing and memorable stay.  It has it's own bathroom with shower and compost loo (don't worry it's fine!).  A kitchen area with induction hob and microwave in case you decide not to pop along to The Bush, our nearby hostelry, for supper just a short distance away. There’s also a BBQ for al fresco dining or relax and keep warm by the fire pit.

Just a few yards from your hut is your own wood-burning hot tub.  Tell us when you plan to arrive and we'll make sure it's warmed up and ready for you to sit back and relax; if the sky is clear you will have a stunning view of the stars.

There's a wood burner in case it's a bit chilly and a cosy 5 foot wide double bed.  Large double doors open out to the garden beside the pond.

We supply enough wood to get the hot tub up to the right temperature and to light the wood burner in the hut should you wish. Additional uses of the hot tub are charged at £20 and extra logs are available to buy on site should you need them.

You may well just want to stay and relax but if you do venture out you will find the coast path just 5 minutes away at the end of the road and lots of lovely beaches to enjoy.  Sandymouth is just a 10 minute drive away.

There are pubs nearby as well as farm shops and tea rooms aplenty.  (Breakfast at the Atlantic Way Farm Shop is awesome!)

Baggins is a wonderful place to relax in comfort at a stunning location in beautiful countryside.  If you want to come with friends we can also offer Pippins shepherd’s hut nearby.  We look forward to welcoming you soon.

Overall a beautiful setting with pond, orchards and countryside views. Very relaxing few days and warm, friendly owners Crispin and Sue. We would recommend a stay. A few points on why our scores:
Discrption in the details on this site do not make it clear other people are nearby and also have use of the Hobbit House. The area is not exclusive. The Pippins hut had visitors that used the communal area on Friday and Saturday we stayed so we were unable. Our hut was extremely small and nowhere to sit except the bed.
The fold away dining set had a damaged chair where the back fell off and my partner fell back into the heater flue as due to lack of space we had the chair legs there. We understand parts were being ordered to fix it So we didn't use again. Also cumbersome to construct in such as small space.
We had to clean the induction hobs before use as well as the dining table.
We both found the memory foam mattress uncomfortable and had little sleep....this is possibly a personal issue.
I would prefer unlimited use of hottub included in the price as £370 for 3 nights and to then pay additional for hot tub use ? Perfer to increase the rate.
Hot tub is well worth using and we were lucky to have a clear night of stars.
Beautiful grounds, relatively peaceful with exception of our neighbours in hobbit house until late.

We had an absolutely magical stay at Baggin's hut, the area is stunning, coastal walks within a couple of minutes' drive (plenty of free parking) with glorious views but far less people than many parts of the south west. Crispin and Sue were wonderful hosts, on hand when you needed them, but without intruding. The hut itself was stunning, a perfect cosy hideaway, with bats and hedgehogs right outside the door at dusk, and a fantastic hot tub. Highly recommended.
