Fowey

Designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Fowey is situated on the west bank of the River Fowey between Looe and Mevagissey, and is famous for being a place of inspiration for books written by Daphne du Maurier, who lived in Fowey for much of her later life. Fowey is a busy sheltered deep water working port offering extensive facilities for the visiting yachtsmen, with an harbour full of pleasure craft in Summer. It is full of character having many narrow meandering streets for you to explore and a choice of many restaurants and cafes when it's time to take a break from your activities.
