Padstow is situated on the west side of the Camel estuary in North Cornwall and is an area of outstanding natural beauty with wonderful bays and beautiful golden beaches. Hire a bike and cycle the Camel Trail, an 18 mile largely traffic free, smooth-surfaced and virtually level cycle way which passes through some of the most spectacular countryside in the south west. Following the disused railway line once used by the London and South West Railway, you will closely follow the Camel Estuary from Padstow to Wadebridge before joining the route through the beautifully wooded Camel Valley to Bodmin. For a more leisurely day out, relax on one of the nearby beaches or watch the fishing boats unload their catch in the harbour and perhaps eat fresh fish in one of the famous restaurants owned and made famous by Rick Stein. Padstow has an array of holiday apartments and flats, or choose to stay in a luxurious holiday cottage or holiday home.
